Slab built vessel with silps, underglaze, volcanic and clear glaze on stoneware.
This vessel is inspired by one of my photographs that I took of a window that had started to become reclaimed by brambles, in one of the old farm buildings at Padstow Airfield, otherwise known as Crugmeer Airfield. Crugmeer Airfield was a 50 acre cliff top site just west of Padstow at the hamlet of Crugmeer. Exposed to high winds, it wasn’t ideal but the best the Admiralty could find in the area. The airfield opened in 1918, and only lasted a year before closing in 1919.
